Students’ Work Featured at Museum of Wisconsin Art

Two students were chosen to represent University School of Milwaukee in an upcoming exhibit at Museum of Wisconsin Art: Maddy Megal ’21 and Gregory Smith ’22. The exhibit is titled “Myself When I Am Real: A Teen Perspective on Identity” and includes work from 12 area high schools. It runs from May 22 to June 13, 2021. Megal’s work is titled “Sweetness,” and Smith’s work is titled “Wallflower.”

Students were asked to create art that addresses the theme of identity and the students’ unique take on the relationship between art, place, and character. The exhibit runs in parallel with another MOWA exhibit, “Artists Without Borders,” which is a testament to the diversity—of backgrounds, interests, and styles—that is representative of Wisconsin art today.
