Upper School English Department Honors Students

Six Upper School English students were honored for their award-winning participation in the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition, and the Poetry Out Loud competition. They were presented with plaques and pins and honored by Upper School faculty members and administration, as well as Head of School Steve Hancock.

The following students were honored at the ceremony:
Irene Gay ’21: Gold Key for Poetry (national) Silver Key for Flash Fiction (national)
Emily Igwike ’24: Gold Key for Poetry (regional)
Einthiri Mudili ’23: Gold Key for Critical Essay (regional)
Divya Pandey ’22: Gold Key for Short Story (regional)
Margaret Rankin ’21: 2nd in State for Poetry Out Loud
Shaan Sharma ’22: Silver Key for Personal Essay and Memoir (regional) 

In addition, Emily Igwike ’24 and Mya Johnson ’21 also competed at Poetry Out Loud. Igwike made it to the state competition and Johnson earned 4th place at the district level. Congratulations to all students!
