Celebrating Fall at USM

Preschool teachers at University School of Milwaukee hosted the annual fall festival for prekindergarten and junior kindergarten students and their families on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Children enjoyed many fun activities, including a giant leaf pile to jump in, games, snacks, and a special area where families could get their photos taken.

Visitors were also able to utilize the outdoor education classroom, which opened in fall of 2018. The outdoor space was designed by landscape architect Karey Servis ’72, supported by the Parents’ Association, and provides a dedicated space where Preschool and Lower School students can participate in outdoor learning. It features plantings, stone benches, and a “river” that fills with water when it rains, providing a habitat for frogs and other creatures that children can study.
