Exploring Water Through Art

A new exhibit is currently on display through Jan. 7 in University School of Milwaukee’s Werner Family Art Gallery, titled “Water: Grade 7 Big Idea Exhibition.” For the exhibit, 7th grade artists explored the big idea theme of water. Each student then had the opportunity to visually express water as it pertained to their own individual interpretations and life experiences.

“This choice-based project offered each student the opportunity to develop a work of art from original conception to final execution,” said Sarah Markwald, Middle School art teacher. “Throughout the process, students experienced all eight of our studio habits of mind while learning to think like an artist.”
