Jake Presutti has been named University School of Milwaukee’s boys’ varsity basketball coach and head of the school’s basketball program. Presutti had a remarkable playing and coaching career and has spent the last seven years coaching with Steve Wojciechowski and the Marquette University men’s basketball program. “Jake is an incredible hire for USM and will lead our program to the next level,” said Director of Athletics Tim Williams. “He loves the atmosphere here at USM and is ready to embrace our Wildcats community as his own. I can’t wait to see where he takes our program.”
Presutti played basketball at Syracuse University for Jim Boeheim. During his time there, the team won two Big East Tournament championships and made two Sweet 16 appearances. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Syracuse. After his playing career ended, he returned to his alma mater as a graduate men’s basketball manager. During this time, Presutti also worked for multiple national basketball trials including the USA Basketball World University Games and the USA Basketball U19 Trials. He also served as the video coordinator for the Canadian men’s national team at the FIBA Americas Championship.
In 2010, Presutti joined the NBA’s Houston Rockets as a basketball operations assistant. He then accepted a position with former Syracuse assistant, Rob Murphy, at Eastern Michigan University as director of player development. He also served as special assistant for the USA Basketball Senior Men’s National Team prior to joining Marquette.
“I’m excited for this new opportunity, and I am looking forward to immersing myself in the USM community,” says Presutti. “I’m eager to meet the team and to help the program reach its potential. I would like to thank Tim Williams and the administration at USM for this opportunity.” Presutti will also fill the position of full-time permanent substitute teacher in the Upper School.
Originally from Belmont, New York, Presutti now lives in Milwaukee’s north shore with his wife, Brittany, and three sons, Lincoln, Theo, and Grant.
In addition to varsity coaching, Presutti will be hosting a new after-school camp for Preschool and Lower School students that focuses on basketball skills and fundamentals. The camp is available to all junior kindergarten through 4th grade students regardless of after-school care registration status.
