USM Holds In-service Day

USM Holds In-service Day

University School of Milwaukee faculty and staff members participated in an in-service day on Friday, Oct. 15. In the morning, all individuals were given time to complete the school's strategic design survey, as well as meet with their Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) self-study report steering committees to review their reports in advance of USM's accreditation visit later this month. Faculty members then met with their divisions to discuss division-related initiatives.

In the afternoon, all faculty and staff members participated in professional development led by USM’s Director of Equity and Student Success Dr. Gina Haughton, and educational consultant Jen Cort (pictured), an author and speaker who focuses on engaging all constituent groups in a school community around Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) work. The afternoon was spent exploring issues of identity and cultural responsiveness pedagogy, and creating spaces of belonging for all members of the USM community.
