Authors Miranda and Baptiste Paul Visit USM

Miranda and Baptiste Paul, a husband-and-wife team of picture book authors, visited University School of Milwaukee on Monday, May 1. Miranda Paul is the award-winning children's author of “One Plastic Bag,” “Water is Water,” “Whose Hands Are These?” and “Nine Months,” a 2019 Boston Globe Horn Book Honor for Nonfiction. Baptiste Paul is a Caribbean-born author of five books for children. His debut picture book, “The Field,” received starred reviews from Kirkus, The Horn Book, and Booklist. His picture book biography, “I Am Farmer,” chronicles the work of Cameroonian environmentalist Tantoh Nforba.

Miranda and Baptiste spent a full day at USM, speaking to students in Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School about their books, their backgrounds, and their writing process. They also ate lunch with Lower School and Middle School students, and ended the day signing autographs.

Many thanks to USM’s Parents’ Association, which sponsored the visit.
