Christina Dresang Named Art Teacher of the Month

Christina Dresang, Lower School art teacher at University School of Milwaukee, has been named the October 2022 Art Teacher of the Month by the Wisconsin Art Education Association. She was nominated by Michael Tauscher, head of Preschool and Lower School.

“Christina has the unique ability to integrate art curriculum into any classroom unit of study,” said Tauscher. “The lessons she plans are designed with a growth mindset allowing children to learn, experiment, and create their own art. Christina is able to engage the children in a manner that truly gets them excited for art.”

Dresang has worked at USM since 2016. She has more than 10 years of experience developing and teaching art education curriculum in schools and organizations throughout Wisconsin and has given presentations at multiple state and national conferences on art education and interdisciplinary curriculum. She served on USM’s Characteristics of Professional Excellence committee and, in 2018, she was named a Wright Family Distinguished Faculty award winner.
