Hannah Gold ’18 Competes in Maccabiah Games

Mequon, Wisconsin native and University School of Milwaukee graduate Hannah Gold ’18 competed as part of the inaugural women’s hockey competition at the Maccabiah Games in Jerusalem. The games, held from July 14 to 28, hosted 10,000 athletes from 60 countries, and are sometimes called the “Jewish Olympics.” This was the first year that women were allowed to compete in hockey at the games.

Although Team USA lost to Canada 6-2 in the final round on July 22, Gold did not leave empty handed—she was named the team’s most valuable player.

Gold was featured in an article on The Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle’s website on Aug. 30, 2022.
