Middle School Musicians Host Fall Concerts

Middle School students at University School of Milwaukee hosted the final two concerts of the fall semester last week. Parents and guests were invited to enjoy performances from Middle School bands and orchestras on Dec. 13, followed by Middle School choral concerts on Dec. 15. The bands and orchestras concert showcased the growth of USM’s musicians, starting with the youngest in 5th grade band and concluding with 7th and 8th grade band, which closed the evening with a performance of “Zigzag” by Sean O’Loughlin. Sixth grade orchestra included a special guest, Assistant Head of Middle School Brad Dunning, who narrated “GPS” arranged by Richard Meyer.

The 5th–8th grade choral concert also showcased the growth in choral musicians. The 5th grade choir had the audience help to create a rainstorm before they performed “Que Llueva,” arr. by Cristi Cary Miller. The 8th grade choir ended the night singing a four-part “Jabberwocky” by Caroline Jennings. Congratulations to all participants!
