USM Students Perform Filipino Dance
Five USM students, along with other local students, held multiple performances at the 2022 Holiday Folk Fair International as part of an area Filipino Youth Folk Dancing Group. The youth group performed the well-known Filipino dance “Tinikling” and also provided educational sessions to share and teach the dance to local area schools. The three-day fair, hosted on the Wisconsin State Fair Grounds, featured traditional music and dance, a variety of traditional cuisine, interactive exhibits, and more.
The participating students were Elise Gozon ’23, Fiona Hernandez ’25, Sasha Lew ’25, Lyle Mondano ’24, and Felix Resch ’27, and the group was coached by Chris Cruz, USM’s director of information technology.
