Child Psychologist Provides Feedback and Support

Dr. Rick Clark, a child clinical psychologist, presented to parents at University School of Milwaukee on Wednesday, Nov. 1. His visit was sponsored by the Parents’ Association as part of its monthly Wildcat Coffee series. Clark spoke to parents about various developmental pedagogies and how they can help inform best approaches at home. He also answered questions from parents and recommended resources for further reading.

This year, Clark is partnering with Preschool teachers at USM to help them best support students. Each month, Clark observes Preschool classrooms at USM and provides tailored consultations to teachers regarding children’s developmental and emotional growth. Through this collaboration, teachers are able to create successful strategies and techniques for guiding children so they can learn, grow, and play appropriately and successfully. Clark’s yearlong collaboration is made possible through a Think Big grant from the school, in which teachers can apply for funding to engage in professional development opportunities.

Clark offers individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions and psychological evaluations with direct services to children from infancy to adolescence. He also serves as a faculty member at Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology and as an adjunct faculty member at Marquette University.
