Dad-and-daughter Duo Publish Children’s Book

Kindergarten student Simone Carroll ’36 gave a special presentation to her classmates at University School of Milwaukee on Wednesday, May 29: she read the book that she wrote and illustrated with her father, Christopher Carroll. The book is titled “Winnie-the-Pooh and the Honey Jar Mishap,” about a comical misadventure involving Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin. 

Christopher Carroll is a writer, publisher, and cultural sociologist. "Winnie-the-Pooh and the Honey Jar Mishap" is his debut children’s book. He is passionate about the importance of reading for child development and has taught and worked at several universities and literacy and youth organizations. Simone loves books, hockey, monkey bars, and art. She assisted illustrating the book using a combination of tracing, sketching, and digital illustration software. Her contributions to the storyline were inspired by evening readings with her family of A.A. Milne’s 1926 classic “Winnie the Pooh.”
