USM Community Celebrates Earth Day

Members of the University School of Milwaukee community celebrated Earth Day by participating in a city-wide clean up event on Saturday, April 20. USM students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff gathered at Lake Park to pick up trash and keep our open spaces beautiful. They joined more than 4,200 volunteers across the city of Milwaukee celebrating Earth Day.

The USM community portion of the larger event was organized by Will Piper ’96, assistant director of alumni relations and reunion giving, and sponsored by the school’s Alumni Association. The award for the most unusual find of the day went to Luke Lauritzen ’33, who collected an unopened bag of vacuum cleaner parts. Many thanks to all who participated!
