University School of Milwaukee has announced that Brian Hendricks has been named the school's varsity girls' basketball head coach. Hendricks also serves as the associate director of USM's College Guidance office.
“I feel beyond blessed and excited to be a part of this program,” said Hendricks. “I am excited to get to work right away and start building something special.”
Hendricks has over 20 years of experience in coaching basketball. He has led high school basketball programs to success, accumulating a career record of 100-52, 5 WIAA Regional Championships, one WIAA Sectional Championship, a WNIT National Championship, and an NCAA Tournament appearance. He has made coaching stops at Marquette University High School, Mount Mary University, Wauwatosa East High School, and Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, amongst others.
His coaching philosophy emphasizes player development, leadership, and teamwork, helping athletes grow both on and off the court. A certified mental performance coach, he integrates mindset training into his coaching, preparing players for challenges in basketball and in life.
“I am overjoyed to have Brian take over our girls’ basketball program,” said Tim Williams, USM’s director of athletics. “We couldn't ask for a more qualified and experienced coach for our team. Our girls are in great hands.”
In addition to his coaching background, Hendricks has spent 10 years in college admissions advising, helping students navigate the college search process to find the right fit. He joined USM’s College Guidance team in 2024 to provide students with the same personalized support that shaped his own educational journey. A three-time graduate of Marquette University, he holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast and electronic communication, and master’s degrees in leadership studies, and school counseling. His passion for mentorship extends beyond basketball, as he enjoys guiding students in their academic and personal growth.
Outside of work, Hendricks and his wife, Jackie, have been married for 10 years, and they have three young children.
