Celebrating Visual Arts at Gallery Night

University School of Milwaukee students and visual arts faculty hosted the fourth-annual Gallery Night on Friday, April 25. The school-wide celebration of the visual arts, themed “Cultivating Creativity,” featured artwork from students in prekindergarten through 12th grade, various hands-on workshops, and food trucks.

Guests were also invited to explore all three divisions of the school and stop at various stations to participate in a variety of hands-on workshops, including decorating pots, creating a pressed flower bookmark, enjoying a glow room with neon colors, creating a seed bomb, and more.

“I am still in awe of this past Friday’s Gallery Night,” said Head of School Steve Hancock. “It was inspiring to see so many families come together to celebrate art in all its forms. Students proudly shared their work and even created new masterpieces throughout the evening. It was truly a wonderful day for our school.”

Many thanks to the school’s visual arts faculty for their hard work to organize and coordinate the event: Izzi Buikus, Mandy Culver, Jessica Michels, and Andrea Worthey, as well as the many parent volunteers who assisted.
