Kate Viviano Named Girls’ Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse Head Coach

Kate Viviano has been named the University School of Milwaukee varsity girls’ lacrosse head coach. Viviano grew up on Long Island in New York and was immersed in lacrosse from a young age. She played lacrosse in high school, and then played for five seasons at Marquette University, where she was team captain in her senior year. She also coached for one year at Marquette as a graduate assistant as she pursued her master’s in business management.

“I am excited to take on this new opportunity and continue and grow the great culture at USM,” she said.

Viviano moved to Chicago after her coaching stint with Marquette and, while there, coached at New Trier High School and was active with the TeamOne lacrosse club in the Chicago area. Since returning to Milwaukee in 2023, Viviano served as USM's assistant coach, the same year the team made its appearance in the inaugural WIAA state championship. Viviano is also active in coaching for the Black Lax Club in Milwaukee.

Viviano resides in downtown Milwaukee with her dog, Molly. “We are very excited for her new role within the girls’ lacrosse program and we are all looking forward to her continued work with our girls on the team,” said Tim Williams, USM’s director of athletics.
