The librarians at University School of Milwaukee hit the road recently to attend the Wisconsin Book Festival in Madison, Wisconsin. They saw numerous authors speak, including Nicola Yoon (pictured); Lauryn Myracle, National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature 2023-2024; Meg Medina; and more. “While the author lectures were exciting for us bibliophiles, the highlight of the trip was book shopping, of course,” said Preschool and Lower School librarian Dolores Brown. Many new and exciting titles will be coming to all three libraries in the coming weeks. In addition to Brown, Middle School Librarian Ivana Renteria and Upper School Librarian Laura Klein also attended the festival.
The Wisconsin Book Festival, presented by Madison Public Library in partnership with Madison Public Library Foundation, presents free, public author events that celebrate books and spark conversations. Each year, the festival creates a robust schedule of accomplished and new writers whose fiction, nonfiction, and poetry books appeal to all ages of readers. The festival presents stand-alone events throughout the year with a culminating celebration each fall.
