Students Honor Georgia O'Keeffe

Students Honor Georgia O'Keeffe

Now on display in the Werner Family Art Gallery at University School of Milwaukee is a collection of pastels created in the style of Georgia O’Keeffe. The exhibit is called "Blossoming Impressions: A Georgia O'Keeffe Tribute." The pieces, created last year by current 7th grade students, are stunning floral and plant compositions that celebrate nature’s beauty.

“These artworks reflect the students' exploration of bold color, texture, and close-up perspectives, much like O'Keeffe’s signature style,” said Andrea Worthey, Upper School art teacher and Werner Family Art Gallery coordinator. The work will be on display through mid- October.

Many thanks to Izzi Buikus, Middle School art teacher, for matting the each piece of art and coordinating the exhibit.
