White Spruce Seedlings Planted for Arbor Day
Fourth grade students at University School of Milwaukee celebrated Arbor Day by planting white spruce seedlings on campus. The trees were provided to every 4th grade student in Wisconsin by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, for its annual Arbor Day tree planting program.
The trees were planted in areas of campus where planners are looking to extend the school’s evergreen forest. Students were assisted by Kip Jacobs ’74, USM’s outdoor education coordinator, as well as Middle School outdoor education students. While outside, Jacobs led the group on a tour of USM’s extended campus.
