Anatomage Team Competes at Nationals

University School of Milwaukee Upper School students Jind Kaur ’28, Elina Cheng ’27, Grace Chen ’27, and Aida El-Hajjar ’27, joined 41 other teams from around the country at the National Anatomage Tournament at the Anatomage headquarters in Santa Clara, California. USM's team, called the Body Builders, was invited to compete at the national competition after earning 1st place at the state Anatomage tournament in April.

At the national competition, the first round was a seeding round. Each team was given the same questions and time to complete 30 part identification and 10 function IDs. The USM team earned the 26th seed. In the first round of head-to-head competition, they defeated the 39th seed to advance into the round of 32. In that round, they faced the 7th seeded team "Glutes to the Max" and while they had the same scores in the function section, the USM team did not perform as well in the structure ID section and were eliminated from the competition. 

"The team enjoyed the workshops, presentations, and the other activities that were part of the two day competition and they're already making plans on how to improve and make their way back next year," said team coach Bob Heun, Upper School science teacher.
