Angela Wang ’26 Named 2026 Coca-Cola Scholar

University School of Milwaukee senior Angela Wang has been named a 2026 Coca-Cola Scholar—part of a select group of 150 high school seniors who are leading positive change in their communities and around the world. Each of the scholars will receive a $20,000 college scholarship, and Wang is just one of two seniors from the state of Wisconsin to be selected.

Less than 1/7 of 1% of applicants were chosen to receive this extremely competitive award. The 150 applicants were selected from an initial pool of more than 107,000 applications. The students will celebrate at a special weekend-long event hosted by Coca-Cola in Atlanta in April.

“Being named a Coca-Cola Scholar means so much to me and my values,” said Wang. “By amplifying the voices of the youth, I hope to inspire future generations to lead with purpose and create meaningful change in our community. I’m so excited to connect with and learn from other scholars across the country!”

Throughout her time at USM, Wang has been involved in many athletic, research and leadership activities. In 2024 and 2025, Wang earned 4th place in singles competition at the WIAA Division 1 individual state tennis tournament, which followed her state championship win in 2023, in the Division 2 championship match. In January 2026, Wang was named a top 300 scholar in the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2026 for her project titled “A Novel CNN-Based Approach for Early Alzheimer’s Prediction Using APOE Genetic Data.” In May 2025 she was named Milwaukee’s third Youth Poet Laureate for the 2025-26 school year.

Wang joins USM alumni Nabeel Quryshi '18 and Afiya Quryshi '20, who were named Coca-Cola Scholars in 2018 and 2020, respectively.
