Entrepreneurship Club Hosts Craig Culver

Entrepreneurship Club Hosts Craig Culver

Upper School student members of the University School of Milwaukee entrepreneurship club welcomed a special guest on Wednesday, May 6: Craig Culver, founder of Culver’s restaurant. Students gathered in Kohl Collaboration Center to hear Culver being interviewed by Cristián Barrutia ’26 and Elliott Flores ’26, who both founded the club as sophomores more than two years ago.

Culver shared personal stories, experiences, and how Culver’s grew from one restaurant in Sauk City, Wisconsin to 1,000 restaurants nationwide. Culver’s advice to young entrepreneurs was simple and straightforward: Be modest and humble; don’t speak negatively of others; listen to your heart; do the right thing; and finally, when you get knocked down, get back up.

A week prior to Culver’s visit, the club hosted Greg Marcus, CEO of the Marcus Corporation, who previously visited USM 2024
