First Career Lunch and Learn Highlights Careers in Medicine

Upper School students at University School of Milwaukee were invited to attend the first career lunch and learn program of the school year, where students have the opportunity to dine with leaders and industry experts to learn more about specific fields of employment.

This career lunch and learn, held on Tuesday, Sept. 30, featured Dr. Bethany  Peri, retired pediatric endocrinologist and clinical informaticist, and Dr. Rachel Loomans assistant professor of radiology and associate program director, breast imaging fellowship, at Medical College of Wisconsin. Read more about Peri and Loomans here.

The individuals spoke to students about their career paths, shared their educational backgrounds and the various avenues they took that led them to where they are today, and answered questions from students.

Additional lunch and learn events are being planned for later this school year, and all Upper School students are invited to attend.

Many thanks to USM’s Internship and Shadowing committee and Parents’ Association for assistance with planning and scheduling. Any individuals interested in speaking at future events should contact internship@usm.org for more information.
