Gallery Night 2026 Celebrates the Arts

University School of Milwaukee students and visual arts faculty hosted the fifth-annual Gallery Night on Friday, May 15. The school-wide celebration of the visual arts, themed “Cultivating Creativity,” featured artwork from students in prekindergarten through 12th grade, various hands-on workshops, and food trucks.

Guests were also invited to explore all three divisions of the school and stop at various stations to participate in a variety of hands-on workshops, including decorating pots, creating a pressed flower bookmark, enjoying a glow room with neon colors, creating a seed bomb, and more.

In addition to the plethora of visual art to see and create, musicians were on hand to lend a festive soundtrack to the evening. The Upper School student club AMP’D performed a variety of songs, and other students sung musical numbers.

"Last Friday’s Gallery Night was a truly joyful celebration of our students and their creativity," said Head of School Steve Hancock. "From the moment the doors opened, our building was alive with energy, pride, and a shared sense of wonder."

Many thanks to the school’s visual arts faculty for their hard work to organize and coordinate the event: Izzi Buikus, Mandy Culver, Jessica Michels, and Andrea Worthey, as well as the many parent volunteers and faculty who assisted.
