Girls’ Tennis Competes at Team State

After becoming Division 1 sectional champions, the University School of Milwaukee girls’ tennis team headed to Nielsen Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin for the 2025 Girls Tennis Team State Championship meet on Oct. 24 and 25. 

The number-three seed Wildcats finished 6-1 in the quarterfinals against Madison West on Friday, Oct. 24 and advanced to the semifinals, where they fell to Neenah. The team capped off their impressive season with a 3rd place finish at state.

Congratulations to the following athletes who competed in singles at team state: Angela Wang ’26, who took 4th place at the WIAA Division 1 state tennis individual tournament; Wynter Maitland ’26, Jocelyn Stratton ’27, and Anaya Amin ’26; and the following athletes who competed in doubles at state: Haley Erlich ’26 and Lindsey Gardner ’26; Olivia Gourlay ’27 and Natalie Friedman ’28; and Ella McDonald ’26 and Charley Gardner ’28.
