New World Language Book Collection Now Available

There’s a new collection of French and Spanish books in the Stratton Preschool/Lower School Library at University School of Milwaukee, thanks to a collaboration between Dolores Brown, Lower School librarian and Preschool and Lower School World Language Teachers Gina Merino and Laith Al-Msaibeeh.

The new world language book collection extends classroom activities such as libro detective and inspecteur lecteur, which encourage students to engage thoughtfully with texts in their target language. The collection of books showcases the department’s commitment to building strong literacy skills. Upper School students have joined Lower School classes as reading partners, helping foster confidence, curiosity and a love of reading.

Parents and caregivers were recently invited to celebrate the new collection by participating in a family read-aloud in the library, held after school.
