Opera Comes to Life at USM
Performers from Milwaukee’s Florentine Opera visited Lower School students at University School of Milwaukee on Monday, April 20. They presented a reduced version of “Elixir of Love” to young audiences as part of their Opera in Schools Tour, which brings a fully costumed and staged children’s opera to schools, libraries, and other organizations. The music was performed in the original Italian, tied with some dialogue in English, and the show proved that no silly love potion can outshine the real magic of courage and being yourself. Students loved the colorful costumes, comical acting, and of course, the spectacular singing.
Florentine Opera has previously visited USM in 2024 and 2023.
