Second Grader is Division Head for a Day

Being the head of Preschool and Lower School at University School of Milwaukee is a big job, and Ben Wagor ’36 got the chance to experience it for himself on Wednesday, May 6 when he served as the division head for the entire day.

His duties included assisting with morning drop off, hosting a lunch table, delivering snacks to Preschool and kindergarten students, serving as a jump rope assistant, inspecting the security truck, and calling names out over the public address system for pick up at the end of the day. Wagor got to pick the lunch menu for the day—hot dogs with chocolate chip cookies for dessert—and he also decreed that students could dress in their favorite sports team shirt, in addition to spirit wear gear for Wildcat Wednesday.

Wagor’s experience was made possible by winning the “Head for a Day” raffle prize during the Week of Winning hosted by the Parents’ Association in January. Students could purchase tickets for their chance to win awesome prizes and experiences, with funds raised going to support PA initiatives and other student and parent programming.
