Students Compete at National Anatomy Tournament

Three teams from University School of Milwaukee competed at the Anatomage National Anatomy Tournament, a competition for high school students to compete and test their knowledge of anatomy, in June in Las Vegas.

At the tournament, teams competed in a preliminary round to determine their ranking, with the top 32 teams advancing to the head-to-head round. One of the teams from USM, The Organ Munchers, advanced as the 21st seed, where they took on the 12th-seeded team and lost in the first round of head-to-head competition.

The AnatoMonsters team took 1st place in the Kahoot! Anatomy and Physiology Competition.
“This is only USM's second year fielding anatomy teams, and all of our competitors should be proud of their performance,” said Bob Heun, Upper School science teacher and team coach.

Prior to the tournament, students practiced their knowledge using the Anatomage table, a life-sized anatomy and digital dissection tool that the school acquired in 2022.
