Students Support Empty Bowls Milwaukee

Students in University School of Milwaukee’s National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS) recently made a meaningful impact in the Milwaukee community by leading faculty and staff in the creation of 50 handmade ceramic bowls for the annual Empty Bowls Milwaukee fundraiser. The event itself invites guests to enjoy a delicious meal of soup in a handcrafted bowl, which they take home as a reminder of the cause. All proceeds support NourishMKE, Milwaukee’s largest network of community food centers, helping to provide essential meals and resources to those in need.

“This annual event raises funds to fight hunger in the community, and we are proud that our students could contribute through their creativity and generosity,” said Izzi Buikus, Middle School art teacher and faculty liaison for the club. “Thank you to our talented young artists for using their skills to make a difference! Their dedication to service and the arts embodies the spirit of our school community.”
