Kessia Andersen Named Head Coach for New Dance Team

University School of Milwaukee has announced that Kessia Andersen has been named the school’s varsity dance team coach. Andersen also serves as a Middle School Spanish teacher.

Andersen has an extensive dance background, having trained at Milwaukee Ballet School and Miami City Ballet School. She taught ballet and jazz throughout high school and college and continues to share her passion for the performing arts by choreographing summer musicals for Oconomowoc Community Theatre.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be coaching USM's first varsity dance team,” Andersen said. “So many of our students are dedicated dancers outside of school, and this program gives them the opportunity to bring their talent and passion into the USM community. I’m excited to help our dancers grow, build school spirit, and create something they can be proud to call their own.”

“The addition of varsity dance is an exciting chapter for USM Athletics, giving our student athletes another opportunity to compete, perform, represent their school, and showcase their talents,” said Tim Williams, USM’s director of athletics. “We are excited to see Coach Andersen and our dancers bring their energy and school spirit to the USM community!”
