University School of Milwaukee has announced that Reid Koenen has been named the school’s varsity boys’ basketball head coach.
“I am very excited to be a part of the USM community and can’t wait to begin building a culture of student athletes who are champions on and off the court,” said Koenen.
Koenen brings an outstanding combination of playing experience, coaching success, and a passion for developing young people. A three-year starter and team captain at NCAA Division I Texas State University, Koenen also starred at The Prairie School in Racine, Wisconsin, where he scored more than 1,000 career points and earned honorable mention All-State recognition.
Koenen has built an impressive coaching resumé. He spent four years coaching AAU basketball with Wisconsin Playground Club and currently coaches with Team Herro EYBL, one of the premier grassroots basketball programs in the country. At the high school level, he compiled a 40-35 record in three seasons as the varsity head coach at St. Augustine Prep, helping develop student athletes both on and off the court.
“We are excited for the future of our boys basketball program and look forward to the leadership, enthusiasm, and commitment Coach Koenen will bring as we continue to build a program that reflects the values of University School of Milwaukee,” said Tim Williams, USM’s director of athletics.
Koenen and his girlfriend, Brittany, have two sons, Jackson (11) and Coleson (3). Family is an important part of who he is, and he looks forward to becoming an active member of the USM community.
