Music Lessons

The Lower School orchestra offers separate beginner and experienced group lessons for students interested in violin, viola, cello, and bass. These small-group lessons take place once a week during recess or after school, with each session lasting 30 minutes. Spots are limited for the after-school option. Lesson groups and times will be assigned based on the instrument.

All forms must be completed by Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. Once all forms are submitted, a lesson schedule will be shared with families.

Fall group lessons are $425 for the first semester, which includes 12 weeks of instruction, and will be billed through the FACTS student billing account in October.

USM hosts convenient, private, one-on-one and small-group lessons for various instruments, ages, and proficiency levels. These lessons are taught at USM by local music educators and performers and are held after school.

Learning an instrument through private lessons offers several key benefits that can greatly enhance a student's musical journey, such as:

• Technical proficiency and enhanced performance skills.
• Building confidence.
• Learning time management, discipline, practice, skills, and more.

Private lessons for clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, percussion, violin, viola, cello, and piano are currently available. If your child is interested in learning a different instrument, contact the Auxiliary Programs office at etc@usm.org or 414.540.3350.

To register for lessons, email the Auxiliary Programs office at etc@usm.org with your instrument, and we will provide you with the contact information for that teacher. Parents and guardians should then contact the teacher to discuss scheduling and pricing, and to coordinate an ideal lesson time.

Lessons will be billed monthly through the FACTS student billing account. Rates and policies are set by the private teacher and included in the monthly account statement.
