Libraries

Nowhere is the intersection of tradition and innovation more evident than in USM’s three libraries—where students of all ages learn to be critical consumers and effective creators of information in the 21st century.

USM’s librarians help instill a lifetime love of reading and exploration through the wonder of books. They also join with classroom teachers to help students navigate the vast amount of information available online. Students learn how to develop their information literacy skills, how to search and navigate age-appropriate search engines, and how to evaluate the information they find in both online and traditional reference tools.

USM is fortunate to have three libraries: the Stratton Preschool/Lower School Library, the Middle School library, and Stratton Upper School Library. Each library is tailored to meet the unique needs of students, ranging from lower shelving and whimsical designs for our youngest learners, to small-group collaboration rooms and extra electrical outlets for our oldest.
