Counselor of the Year
Susan Zarwell ’87 was selected as the state’s High School Professional Counselor of the Year by the Wisconsin Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC). Zarwell serves as University School’s director of college guidance, and she also served on the WACAC presidential cycle from 2015 to 2018.
“This award must be shared with our whole USM team, as their wisdom and commitment fuel me every day,” said Zarwell. “I am so lucky to work at an institution that truly prizes our work and the students we serve.”
The award honors a high school counselor with five or more years of experience who exhibits knowledge of current trends and has developed and maintained strong relationships with students, families, and college and university representatives. Nominees may have developed new and innovative programming or resources for students, families, and/or colleagues, and distinguished themselves through involvement and leadership in professional development, committee, or organizational work.
