Salute to Service
University School of Milwaukee has a long tradition of service to community and country. For generations, many alumni from USM and its predecessor schools have served in the United States armed forces, bravely dedicating themselves to defending our nation and freedom. We are truly proud of these men and women of our school community and would like to pay tribute to their service.
In 2019, the Alumni Association launched a service recognition program, which included the creation of a memorial and reflection space on campus, as well as ongoing efforts to recognize our veterans. It is our hope that this program will offer a space on campus for visitors, faculty, staff, and students to pause and reflect on the sacrifices those veterans in our community. This new space will be dedicated during a future March to Memorials, an annual event organized by our 8th grade class.
To better enable us to recognize our veterans, we are collecting information about alumni who have served in the armed forces for inclusion in a service recognition program. We invite all alumni of USM and our predecessor schools who previously served or are actively serving to complete the below form to be included in the program and in our Alumni Veteran Registry*. We know some of our veterans are no longer with us, and we encourage you to share those names as well. It is our goal to recognize and honor all alumni veterans.
*Any information provided to the service recognition program and alumni veteran registry will remain confidential. The purpose of collecting this information is to enable the Alumni Association to honor and recognize the service of our alumni veterans. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Alumni office.
