Directions and Contact Information
Please be aware that there are several surface street and freeway on- and off-ramp closures due to the I-43 North-South construction project between Silver Spring Drive and WIS 60 in Milwaukee and Ozaukee Counties that may impact travel to and/or from campus. You can view additional information, including current closures, at WisDOT's I-43 North-South construction website.
Additionally, due to a utilities project to add a new municipal water main in the Village of River Hills by the Mequon Water Utility (which USM will also be accessing), there will be ongoing partial closures to surface streets around the campus, as well as campus roads. We will provide updates on this page as we become aware of them. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
Directions
Driving Directions
The University School of Milwaukee campus has three entrance/exit locations—two that are accessed from Fairy Chasm Road (West Drive and East Drive), and one that is accessed from County Line Road (North Drive). Using the school's mailing address (2100 W. Fairy Chasm Road) in map programs will take you to the West Drive and East Drive; for directions to the North Drive, please use 1775 W. County Line Road as the address and then proceed south after turning onto campus.
From I-43, exit on Brown Deer Road west (Exit 82B)
Go about 0.3 miles, and the first right is Spruce Road
Turn right (north) on Spruce Road and drive to the stop sign
Turn left (west) on Fairy Chasm Road
The school will be on the right-hand side of the road
For entry to the main building, there are two visitor entrances (see map link above for details):
- Use East Drive for the East Visitor Entrance (Upper School) and parking (P2–P4 lots).
- Use West Drive for the West Visitor Entrance (Lower School) and parking (P5–P8)
- You will be asked to check in or, for first-time visitors, show a driver's license or valid state or federal identification card, and all adult visitors must wear a visitors pass while in the building)
For the Uihlein Ice Arena, use West Drive and proceed to the parking lot (P4 on the map) adjacent to the arena entrance.
For the Pennington Athletic Complex, use East Drive and proceed to the Upper School parking lots (P5–P8 on the map), and then walk to the specific athletic field.
