Extended Time Care
We are happy to provide Extended Time Care (E.T.C.) for Lower School students, as well as Preschool and Middle School students. Families have the flexibility to choose the care options that are right for their busy schedules, knowing that their children are in an engaging and supportive environment. Students are grouped by age level, as staffing and space allow.
Extended Time Care AM
Lower School students will enjoy a calm start to the day, including arts and crafts, read-aloud, and quiet play. Unlike the E.T.C. PM program, the morning session will not feature outdoor or unstructured play, allowing students to save their energy for the exciting school day ahead.
Extended Time Care PM
Lower School students will begin their after school day by enjoying a snack from home before heading outside to play. Once the sunset or cold gets the best of them, they move inside to enjoy time in the gym, crafts, board games, or quiet time. Once in a while, Lower School students will enjoy a movie together.
Specialty Programs
Students in grades PK-4 may choose to participate in our specialty programs, which begin in September. Specialty programs last for numerous weeks, providing students the opportunity to dive deep into learning and explore their passions. New programs are offered throughout the year, so students can try something new as their interests change. Students who do not participate in the specialty programs will attend the E.T.C. PM program.
Staffing
Students are supervised and cared for by a core group of faculty, adults, and college-aged staff, many of whom are interested in education, and supported by USM Upper School students. The staff members are delighted to work with your children and tailor activities to fit their interests.
