Assemblies provide enriching and engaging experiences as our Preschool students come together to learn presentation skills and how to be a respectful member of an audience.
Family-style dining gives students opportunities to get to know and appreciate each other, make new friends, and socialize with teachers and students of different ages.
"Many of us think of USM as a family school, like when the students sit down for lunches together. Those traditions of talking, communicating, and being respectful when you're eating, it's wonderful to watch kids interacting that way outside the classroom. In many ways, it's a classroom itself."
Activities such as Grandparents and Special Friends Day, Upper School "Study Buddies," writing letters to pen-pals, and participating in service days encourages relationships between adults and students of all ages. Learn more about Grandparents and Special Friends Day.
Each October, our Preschool and Lower School students march through the front circle in festive costumes, flanked by Upper School students, during our Masquerade March.
The After School program is designed for Preschool students from 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on school days. The program provides a safe "neighborhood," where children are free to unwind and get together with friends, eat a snack, do their homework, join in an activity, or play on the playgrounds.
