Counselor in Training

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program is the perfect bridge from camper to camp leader. Designed for students entering 9th and 10th grade, this two-week program focuses on hands-on experience working with younger campers and leadership development. The CIT program will take place from July 13-24, 2026.

Each morning, participants will experience interactive leadership workshops, team-building challenges, and real-world job training sessions that prepare them for future roles at camp and beyond. They'll explore what it means to be a role model, learn how to communicate effectively, and gain confidence in leading groups, and resolving conflicts.

In the afternoon, CITs will have opportunities to work alongside our experienced counselors, assisting with games and activities for younger campers, practicing their leadership skills in real-time, and contributing to meaningful camp projects that make a lasting impact on the camp community.

By the end of the program, CITs will leave with:

  • A strong foundation in leadership and teamwork.
  • Practical experience working with children.
  • Improved communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A better understanding of responsibility, initiative, goal setting, and professionalism.
  • Contribution to a capstone project, putting new skills into action, and showcasing growth.

Whether they hope to become future camp counselors or simply want to strengthen their leadership skills, this program provides an unforgettable, empowering experience that helps teens step confidently into their next chapter.

Due to the high-impact nature of this program and the necessary hands-on experience, spots are limited. Interested candidates must complete a formal application for consideration. The cost for the CIT program is $875 per participant.

Ready to apply? The application process involves completing a form with questions focused on your leadership experience and your connection to being a role model for younger children. Applications must be submitted by Sunday, Mar. 1, 2026. Anyone accepted into the program will still be required to register online and pay the course fee.
